This original acrylic painting is 36″ x 36″ on canvas. I was doing a series of Winter scenes when I painted this. The fish under the ice happened by chance as I noticed a few brush stroke resembled the shape of fish. I continued on and slightly embellished the fish. The fish are one of my favorite aspects of the painting. I also used a dry brush technique to create the feeling of snow blowing around. The scary part of this technique is it is the last thing you do to the painting. If you use too much paint you’ll end up with just big blobs of white paint that you won’t be able to remove and basically ruin the artwork.
