Description

In 1956 Russell Kotschevar, a very talented artist, carved the statue after Sam Miller, a popular fisherman and businessman from Garfield Bay out of a 32′ long white pine log that came from Snow Creek in Boundary County. The white pine was 419 years old according to the rings.
The statue was originally located in front of the
Kamloops Tavern for 20 years.
